Gleaning life “weekly” nuggets for Rebuilding Yourself. Monday July 22, 2019.
Topic: God offers the needy His goodness without money.
Scriptural Foundation: Isaiah 55:1-3; Proverbs 9:1-6; Isaiah 35:1-7.
Store Scripture: ERV version. He therefore that supplies to you the Spirit, and worked miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
We have been examining Isaiah 55:1-3 and as we draw the curtain on our study of God’s invitation. We see God’s clarion call and very clear, that hunger and thirst are prerequisite to accessing God’s goodies even without money and price to the poor and needy. Note the all important rhetorical question “why spend money on that which is not bread” and exact your “labor on that which satisfies not”? The simple solution is by doing the following below.
- Hearken diligently to me V2
- To eat that which is good
- Let your soul delight in fatness
- Incline your ear and come to me V3
- Hear Him and your soul shall live.
At the mountain of transfiguration, God’s voice spoke from heaven when He introduced Christ as His Son that we should listen to Him in order for us to live. Mathew 17:1-7. It’s clear that we will always walk in God’s blessings if we pay attention to His word in full obedience. Scriptures tells us in Luke 5:15 the crowd of people came to hear Him and were healed. Note, Faith we’re told comes by or through hearing. Romans 10:17.
Therefore, It’s wise to conclude by reiterating that what you hear will either build up your faith or destroy it. Read Galatians 3:2. To this effect, hear apostle Paul exhortation in Colossians 3:16 NET version. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and exhorting one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, all with grace in your hearts to God.
I pray you accept God’s offer freely by meeting up with His requirements of HUNGER and THIRST for His righteousness. Lets run to Him without money but with penitent hearts. He’s ever faithful and will never turn any back empty handed.
