Store Scripture: proverbs 23:4. Do not wear yourself out to become rich; be wise enough to restrain yourself.

In these last days when cravings for riches and wealth has consumed many at the expense of their souls, apostle Paul as a good mentor tutored Timothy his spiritual son to avoid certain teachings to enable him become heavenly focused. David earlier taught in Psalm 37:16 version. “Better is the little that the righteous have than the abundance of many wicked people”. Excessive desire for riches in scriptures, are considered the cause of much sin and rebellion against God. The Holy Spirit further warned about the following dangers of coveting riches rather than pursuing godliness in 1 Timothy 6:9-10

  1. Makes folks falls into many temptations
  2. Makes some falls into other snails of Satan
  3. While others faces many foolish ways
  4. Face many hurtful lusts
  5. Falls into destruction and perdition
  6. Falls into all roots of evil
  7. Causes one to err from faith
  8. Yet makes plenty to face many sorrows
    We close with Proverbs 6:4 Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
    5 Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler and Psalm 132:4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or rest to my eyeballs.
    5 Till I have got a place for the Lord, a resting-place for the great God of Jacob.
