Topic: We’re called to glory and virtue
Scriptural Foundation: 2 Peter 1:3-12; 1 Thessalonians 2:10-12
Store Scripture:2 Thessalonians 2:13. Net version. But we’re obligated to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.
How to get gospel benefits. The believer as a matter of great importance, must have knowledge that God’s divine power is capable of giving one all things that pertain to life and godliness. A good example is the woman with issues of blood healed in Mark 5:24-34. Please note carefully her actions specifically in verses 27-29.
A. She heard good reports about Jesus
B. She acted on the report by deliberately touching Christ garment for her healing
C. She named her expectations
D. She received the fruits of her faith immediately
Remember we examined two weeks ago, the benefits for both proper and divine knowledge. This woman’s knowledge of Christ ability to heal and turning people’s hopeless situation around terminated her twelve years pains and suffering.
Here are about six blessings of God’s promises in this text.
- Like precious faith. V1; Romans 10:17
- Righteousness (right standing with God)
1 Corinthians 1:30 - Grace and peace. 2 Peter 1:2
- All things that pertain to life and godliness. 2 Peter 1:3; Titus 2:11-12
- Glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3
- Divine nature to escape from corruption and lost. 2 Peter 1:4
Conclusion: always remember as a child of God, that we’re called to glory and virtue in Christ Jesus. Therefore feed on His word daily.
I pray that you’ll encounter the almighty God as you press into Him daily from henceforth. And like the woman in this account, you’ll experience His touch irrespective of life issues facing you now in Jesus mighty name.
