Scriptural Foundation: 2 Peter 1:1-9; Acts 17:28-31
Store Scripture: Job 12:10. Net version. In whose hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all the human race.
I warmly welcome you to this New month of April 2019. As we continue our discuss on the pursuit of Godliness with contentment and its benefits, scriptures tells us in Acts 17:28 that we live, move and have our being in Him being His offspring. God’s divine power has given us (believers) everything required for life and godliness; but with a condition and that’s THROUGH the FULL KNOWLEDGE of the one who called us by his own GLORY and EXCELLENCE. 2 Peter 1:3. Says emphatically that we have God’s “dunamis” that is (inherent power) the power to reproduce itself, like a dynamo which’s translated POWER. This is the reason we must increase our knowledge in Him. Hear Prophet Jeremiah as he lamented this malady: Jer 4:22 ISV version “For my people are foolish, THEY DO NOT KNOW ME. They’re stupid or foolish children, THEY HAVE NO UNDERSTANDING. They’re SKILLED AT DOING EVIL, but HOW TO DO GOOD, they DON’T KNOW.” We must make every conscious and deliberate efforts to learn of and know all about our God given exceeding great and precious promises in 2 Peter1:4 some of which are:
1, God’s ability
2, God’s strength
3, God’s might
4, God’s intelligence
5, God’s wisdom to mention just few.
Through these and more, scriptures says we may participate in the divine nature after escaping the worldly corruption that’s produce by evil desires.
In conclusion, always bear in mind that Godliness is of value in every way. It holds promise for this present life and also life hereafter.
Thanks be to God, that in Christ we have victory and everything that pertains to life and Godliness.
I pray for you as we begin April month today, that the Holy Spirit (our advocate and helper) will increase your hunger for His righteousness and knowledge, amen.
