The Lord is with you when you’re with Him

2 min read

Gleaning life “weekly” nuggets for Rebuilding Yourself. Monday June 3, 2019.

Topic: The Lord is with you when you’re with Him
Scriptural Foundation:
2 Chronicles 15:1-7; Psalm 32:5-8; Amos 5:4-6
Store Scripture: Isaiah 55:6. Net Version. Come to (seek) the LORD while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!

I Welcome you once more to June the 6th month of 2019. Taking a critical look at king Asa’s reforms, one fact that we cannot over look was the bluntness of Prophet Azariah son of Oded’s message to the King, all Judah and Benjamin as the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. It was an uncompromising revival message. They had abandoned God completely, uninterested in God nor His words. V3 says this happened for a long time when they were without the TRUE God and without His priest to teach them God’s ways as well the law. Prophet Amos warned about “famine of hearing the word of the Lord” Amos 8:11 as I shared in last week nugget. See the implications that followed below from V4-6.

  1. Fear of insecurities.
  2. Great turmoil in the land.
  3. Dangers of being crushed by other nations.
  4. Danger of city crushing other cities.
  5. Troubled by every kind of distress.
The knowledge of God’s word normally brings strength and encouragement. Prophet Azariah’s prophetic words spurred King Asa to engage in some kind of reforms at least which restored the fear of God in the land. The first major thing he did was the repair of God’s altar.

Let me conclude by saying emphatically and boldly, we need to repair our individual altars before the Lord to enable the fire fall like Elijah did in 1 King 18:30-39. Everyone of us need fresh fire to fall on the altars of our hearts and works.
May God help us in this generation to humble ourselves, pay the price and meet His conditionality which will usher in uncommon revival in Jesus name, amen.
